Early Childhood Education (ECE) Teacher Job Description DC Bilingual is recruiting Spanish-speaking Early Childhood Education (ECE) assistant teachers to provide effective instructional support to students in the PK3 and PK4 classrooms. Teachers will support DC Bilingual’s mission through the collaborative implementation of our dual immersion bilingual program. DC Bilingual is seeking motivated teachers who are committed to DC Bilingual’s mission of fostering a learning community that ensures high academic achievement in English and Spanish, develops leadership, and values all cultures. All staff are expected to work collaboratively within our professional learning community (PLC). Primary ResponsibilitiesAll teachers must abide by the first and second strands of the DC Bilingual Leading and Learning framework (Professional Expectations and LEAD).Maintain a clear and consistent plan for managing student behaviors aligned to the school’s culture and No Nonsense Nurturer expectations that are responsive to all students’ needs. Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and intellectually challenging learning environment through a variety of co-teaching models based on student need and consistent positive interactions with children. Perform general clerical tasks (e.g. laminating, making posters, making copies, bulletin boards, preparing lesson materials etc.) Collaborate with lead teachers in adapting classroom activities and implementing small group lessons.Assist lead teachers in gathering and analyzing assessment data. Participate in all school wide initiatives to promote family engagement in all school activities. Work collaboratively and professionally with parents and other staff to promote the general health and well-being of all students. Other duties as assigned RequirementsNative or fluent Spanish speaker;High school diploma;CDA license, or current enrollment in a CDA program;Two or more years of experience (preferably in an urban or culturally diverse setting);Demonstrated ability to work with students and families from diverse backgrounds. SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTSThis position has no supervisory responsibilities. WORK ENVIRONMENTThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
