Director of Operations Position Summary PERS/Ambipar Response is looking for a driven leader to manage an established DOT compliance business and team of industry subject matter experts. As Director of Operations, you will lead the local operations team while continuing to grow and develop future leaders of PERS/Ambipar Response. This position requires a combination of technical knowledge and effective collaboration skills to manage all aspects of operations and service delivery and the overall financial performance of the business. Position Details Reports to: Managing Director Location: Houston, TX (Remote) Position Type: Full-Time FLSA Classification: Exempt (Salary) Compensation: Commensurate with experience Travel: As needed (up to 35%) Essential Functions Direct and oversee all operational activities and personnel management, including full accountability for profit and loss. Provide strategic guidance and support in planning, organizing and directing the activities of operations and service teams Partner with Managing Director to develop and execute strategies and policies aligning with company objectives Collaborate with Sales Manager to ensure continuity between operations and sales team. Develop, implement, and maintain rigorous quality assurance protocols to uphold service excellence Enhance internal capacity by optimizing existing processes and procedures for increased efficiency. Ensure that operational activities remain on time and within budget Effectively communicate all operational and service-related activities across the organization Work with clients, vendors and leaders across the business to ensure goal congruence and consistently exceed our client’s and employees’ expectations Manage the overall financial performance of the service groups across the company Develop strategic operating plans for different service teams that align with the growth and profitability objectives of the broader organization Drive accountability for key metrics performance metrics that propel business growth Manage process changes, enhancements and modifications to facilitate implementation of new or improved business processes Lead, motivate, and support team members in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, including the development of career plans and resolution of challenges. Manage data collection for the updating of metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce overhead costs, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service Partner with cross-functional teams (Ambipar and Witt O’Brien’s) to improve proprietary tools and systems Work closely with legal and safety departments to ensure that activities and services remain compliant Oversee materials and inventory management to support operational efficiency Other duties assigned by management Minimum Job Requirements Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in operations management Experience with multi-site, geographically distributed workforce Operations experience in a branch-based service industry Experience with direct management experience Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative management style Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational, writing and presentation skills Deep understanding of financial analysis and reporting, key business metrics, forecasting, and annual budgeting Ability to thrive in a fast paced, technology driven service environment Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs and across remote offices Must be results-oriented and demonstrate the ability to work independently and in a team environment as well as lead and/or participate in cross-functional teams Knowledge of business productivity software and an aptitude for learning new applications Preferred Job Requirements Bachelor’s Degree preferred, Master’s Degree a plus Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a remote work force Working knowledge of management software programs including Microsoft, QuickBooks, Proliant, etc. Multiple years of financial and account reporting experience Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Previous Business Development/Account Management success Job Description Disclaimer This position description incorporates the core responsibilities of the job.
