Mythics is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage our customer’s Oracle database system. You will be required to install and maintain the database software, create storage structures, set up user accounts, debug malfunctioning programs, create backups, and ensure database reliability, availability, scalability, security, and performance. You should have extensive experience with DBA front-end and back-end tools, excellent problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience with Oracle database management. Ultimately, as a senior level Oracle DBA you will expertly manage our customer’s database system to maximize performance, security, and availability.

Responsibilities:

• Provide overall support and technical leadership around Oracle Database Administration (DBA) related activities
• Installing and maintaining the Oracle 19c and higher database software and configurations
• Oracle RAC deployment, patching, and administration
• Configuration, deployment, and management of Oracle Data Guard
• Creating storage database structures with high-level security features
• Altering database storage structures to meet evolving needs
• Setting up and managing database user accounts, roles, privileges, and access
• Training users on how to access the information in the database
• Finding and debugging malfunctioning programs affecting the database integrity
• Creating and maintaining database backups, replication, and disaster recovery
• Maintain database security, upgrades, patching, and tuning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field of study and/or equivalent work experience.
• All candidates shall be U.S. citizens, have lawful permanent resident status, or possess a valid “green card” or equivalent.
• 16 years of work experience.
• Minimum ten (10) years’ experience managing large scale Oracle RAC Database environments, including integration with enterprise applications, such as Oracle EBS
• Minimum seven (7) years’ experience with Oracle DBMS 11g or higher.
• Experience implementing and supporting Oracle Data Guard
• Hands on experience in developing/analyzing complex SQL and PL/SQL
• Knowledge and experience with Agile / Scrum-based development methodology.
• Proficient in Oracle 19c database architecture, implementation, and administration
• Hands on experience with Oracle database backup and recovery procedures
• Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong preference for a DBA that has experience support Oracle EBS patching, upgrades, and database administration tasks.
• Preference for candidates available to work at the client’s location in Washington D.C. – open to remote and/or hybrid work models also.
• Preference for Oracle DBA certifications or equivalent technical certifications
