Western Industrial Resources is Hiring a HYDROVAC OPERATOR Near Apache Junction, AZ

Are you enthusiastic about safe excavation and skilled in operating hydrovac equipment? Join the Western Industrial team as a Hydrovac Operator! In this role, you will use high-pressure water and vacuum systems to dig precisely and efficiently, uncover utilities, and contribute to various construction projects. This position collaborates cooperatively with the team to successfully complete projects including utility line exposure, debris removal, slot trenching, digging, and cleaning tankers. What You will Be Doing:

In this role you will perform functions including:

  • Operating hydrovac equipment and performing hydrovac duties in a variety of working environments, including confined spaces.
  • Driving our hydrovac trucks (60% of total work time).
  • Attending safety meetings.
  • Performing routine inspections and minor repairs of the hydrovac equipment.
  • Preparing work areas by setting up safety measures and addressing potential hazards.
  • Documenting and reporting all Western Industrial, Federal, State, and Customer paperwork accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures for hydroVac operation.
  • Set-up and break-down equipment.
  • Perform general clean-up of jobsites.
  • Assist in safely maneuvering trucks on jobsites (flagging and backing operations).
  • Connect hoses and fittings on various tanks as assigned by the hydrovac driver.
  • Proactively communicate with facility operators and other staff assigned to the location where hydro excavation projects are being performed.
  • Serve as a positive representative of Western Industrial, providing customer service and maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Practice teamwork to ensure efficiency and safety of all hydro excavation projects.
  • Help maintain clean and professional appearance of vehicle at all times.
  • Notify supervisor immediately of any vehicle safety concerns.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • May be assigned other job tasks duties between hydro excavation projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What We are Looking For:

  • Valid Class A or B CDL is required with Tanker endorsement; or willingness to obtain it.
  • CPR/First Aid, Fall Protection and OSHA 10 certification preferred.
  • Preferred experience driving a manual transmission (10-18 speed) without automatic restrictions.
  • Prior hydrovac equipment operation or related industrial experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Safely provide vacuum service according to policies and procedures.
  • Operating the flow and functionality of 2 and 3-inch hoses, tank, and flex hoses.
  • Document all work performed according to policy.
  • Ensuring driving log books, pre-trip/post-trip inspections, and maintenance files on the vehicle are accurately maintained.
  • Ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and customers.
  • Must be committed to working safely at all times.
  • Ability to work variable shifts with extended hours.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25%
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull 50 pounds and have the physical stamina for manual labor in varying weather conditions.

Travel:

25% travel required. Requires the ability to travel to field locations where environment may vary significantly.

    • Work using repetitive motion.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work requires physical efforts associated with using the computer and phones to access information.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is:

  • Occasionally in an office environment.
  • Occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places.

  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, hand tools and small to medium-sized power tool use.
  • Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
  • Regularly exposed to non-toxic propane fumes or airborne particles.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Could require hearing protection at times. This position is required to be performed at the work site during regularly scheduled hours. Physical presence at the work site is required.
