Job Title: Field Manager
Location: Wichita, KS

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic Field Manager to lead a team of at least 3 field technicians that are completing weed control and fertilizer jobs. This role is perfect for someone who is adept at managing both people and projects with a proactive and positive approach. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to handle on-site decisions and will spend approximately 60% of their time in the field (quality control, customer satisfaction, training etc) and 40% in the office (tracking production, setting route, setting appointments).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management & Training:
  • Conduct daily start-up meetings to brief and motivate the team.
  • Train and oversee field workers, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
  • Monitor and report on the progress and conduct of field employees.
  • Address and resolve personnel issues and enforce discipline as needed.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Monitor technician productivity and product rates.
  • Manage maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
  • Plan and set routes for the following day.
  • Oversee the tracking and management of field receipts and applications.
  • Customer Service:
  • Handle complex service calls and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Coach team members on effective communication techniques to retain and satisfy customers.

Prerequisites:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in management or turf preferred
  • Proven experience in field management.
  • Strong background in customer service.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Superior communication abilities.

Certifications:

  • Must obtain Kansas Department of Agriculture certifications within 30 days of employment (training provided).
