General Statement of Duties Develops and plans library programs and events for tweens (ages 8-12) and teens (ages 13-17) in the Youth Services Department of Perrot Library.
Reports to the Head of Youth Services.
The Perrot Memorial Library is located at 90 Sound Beach Ave, Old Greenwich, CT 06870.
Qualifications Education and Experience: Master's degree in Library Information Science from an ALA accredited college or university plus experience in library services for tweens and teens.
Qualifications: Knowledge of children's and young adult literature and current materials being published in all formats.
Knowledge of professional library principles, methods, materials and administrative practices.
Skilled in the operation of a wide variety of computer, audiovisual and office equipment related to library operations including the use of computer hardware and a variety of office and library software programs.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively and tactfully with children, young adults and adults.
Ability to work well with volunteer and community groups.
Ability to work independently and with other team members to carry out all of the tasks and charges that are required to give excellent service.

Duties and Responsibilities: Provides quality library services to tweens and teens in the Youth Services Department.
Schedules, designs and develops programs for tweens and teens.
Assists with development of promotional and registration materials for library programs.
Plans, performs and evaluates programs for age specific groups of tweens and teens in the youth services department.
Maintains communication with local schools. Schedules school visits and performs book talks in conjunction with school staff and Youth Services team members.
Assists with collection development, selecting/recommending new materials in the areas assigned and ordering and /or checking orders.
Actively maintains knowledge of current materials for youth.
Provides reference and reader's advisory services in person, by mail, telephone and electronically to library patrons of all ages using appropriate library materials in all formats.
Performs related work as required.
Supplemental Information All positions may be subject to an interview process.
