Essential Job Duties:
● Provide emergency medical assistance and inter-facility transport
● Quickly and efficiently assess a patient’s condition and determine the best course of
treatment
● Transport patients safely in an ambulance
● Provide first aid or life support to patients who are sick or injured
● Transfer patients to the emergency area of the hospital or other healthcare facility

● Report what they saw and did to doctors, nurses or other healthcare staff
● Document what kind of medical treatment was given to the patient from the moment of
arriving at the scene to transferring the patient to the healthcare facility
● Replace, clean and buy inventory of supplies and equipment
Qualifications:
● Must have a valid state license
● 2 years previous industry experience preferred
● Current CPR/First Aid, ACLS certifications required as well as State/NREMT Certification
● Proficient with MS Office

Skills:
● Listening skills to understand the patient’s extent of illness or injury
● Since Paramedics lift, kneel and bend throughout their job, they need to be physically fit
● Communication skills to speak clearly about the situation and procedures to patients
and healthcare staff
● Problem solving skills for quickly understanding the patient status and symptoms and
for administering required treatment
● SinceParamedics need to provide support to patients in life-threatening situations and
under great stress, they should be compassionate
● Interpersonal skills to work in teams and coordinate with others to handle stressful
situations.

The EMT-B is responsible for the safe and efficient response, treatment, and transport of all persons requesting or requiring emergent or non-emergent medical service. Our program is designed to provide you the flexibility to ensure that you get where you want to be. You will need top-notch communication skills to interact successfully with teammates and patients alike. At times you will work independently, but you will often lead others, providing direction during changing and sometimes stressful situations. Others will look to you to make quick decisions while remaining calm and focused. This job is for the compassionate and competent professional not for the "box checker".

As a member of the MedTrust Team you will be expected to reach beyond just looking and acting the part. You will be part of a team that sets the bar for other emergency transportation companies, both clinically and professionally, in EVERY interaction: appearance, preparation, communication, and managing the difficult and stressful situations encountered every day. During hour 1 or 24, you and your partner will be the very “tip-of-the-spear” for MedTrust. In the end, all the shiny trucks and new equipment are only as good as what you bring to the table.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Walk, bend, squat, twist, reach, push, pull, and carry
  • Frequently lift and/or move more than 125 pounds including lifting, moving and carrying patients up and down stairs

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and be a high school graduate or equivalent 
  • Must have proof of valid motor vehicle operating license, with continued safe driving history
  • Certified EMT License for the State
  • NREMTP
  • Current certifications in AHA/ASHI, HCP BLS CPR
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, written, oral or diagnostic reports
  • Must have the ability to write grammatically correct routine reports and correspondence.
  • Must have the ability to communicate positively; via telephone and radio equipment.
  • Must have the ability to effectively interact and communicate with patients, co-workers and administration
  • Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

 Work Environment:

  • Frequently hectic with exposure to highly emotional situations.
  • Regular scheduling involves long shifts, regularly scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
  • Frequently works in outside weather conditions
  • Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and or humid conditions, or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock
  • May be exposed to airborne, blood and body fluids and associated pathogens.
