The Shop Foreman is responsible for leading the maintenance/service team for all revenue producing and service vehicles, as well as shop equipment, for a designated shift. The role supervises, directs and assigns work to shop service personnel to attain high levels of quality, morale, safety, and efficiency within the Branch’s maintenance/service team.

Pay: $65,000 - $75,000yr. (Based on experience)

Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:30 pm -11:30 pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing and training direct reports in accordance with shop objectives to meet business goals.
• Establish group and individual accountabilities: assign work, approve shift time (including overtime), track goal attainment by direct reports, and provide leadership and development as required to achieve business results
• Determine and continually improve staffing utilization within the department
• Manage personnel-related issues, including disciplinary action, performance evaluations, etc.
• Consult with Company Store Service Manager and Branch Manager as necessary

• Review Quality of Work within Service Shop to include:

• Review PM records and perform management inspections to ensure units are being serviced according to PLC policy.
• Certify that work performed is properly recorded on shop repair orders, including time, parts, tires, and material.
• Ensure that service island personnel are performing the 10-point inspection.

• Ensure that warranty repairs are entered accordingly and that parts are retained for proper disposition.
• Coordinate the preparation of new and sold vehicles for placement in or out of service.
• Promote a safe work environment; ensures safety procedures are followed, including clean-up after repairs, uniforms, attendance, and vacation requests.
• Ensure that environmental guidelines and OSHA standards are followed.
• Fulfill Service Manager duties as needed in their absence.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6-8 years diesel mechanic shop experience, preferably with lead or supervisory experience.
• Valid CDL with a good driving record.
• Extensive knowledge of diesel mechanics.
• Possess the physical abilities, without limitations, to perform duties of full job description.
• Able and willing to work varying shifts and locations.
• Supervision skills in a previous role or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong Leadership, organizational and planning abilities; and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential
