Thispositionis district-wide, K-8.The ideal candidate for thispositionmust hold a MAINE DOE 660 endorsement or be eligible for it (certified in K-12 in ESL). Ability to speak Spanish is helpful, but not essential.The candidate must be able to pass a background test through the State of Maine Education Department.Responsibilities: - Develops lesson plans and instructional materials for small group instruction- Assess individual needs- Participate in ILAP meetings- Collaborate with classroom teachers coordinate services and provide support to students within the grade-level curriculum- Communicate and engage with families, helping to create a school-to-home relationship- Travel between buildings- Create district-wideESOLservices schedule based on state-issued guidelinesRequirements: - 660 endorsement- Shows understanding of the language acquisition process- Coordinates the identification of English Learners (certified to administer the WIDA Screener)- Sensitive to cultural backgrounds and identitiesInternal candidates may apply in writing tohumanresources@kitteryschools.comKittery Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
