Position Title: 2 Pre K TeachersLocation: Mitchell SchoolReports To: Alli Gamache - PrincipalPosition Start Date: August 28, 2024Required Certification: 029 preferred or 081 (or certifiable in the State of Maine)Candidates with additional 282B will be given preference Application Deadline: As soon as qualified candidate is foundThe Kittery School District is currently seeking 2 full-time Pre K classroom teachers at Mitchell School. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working with early childhood students (Pre K-3). The candidates will be responsible for creating a warm and caring environment for young children, implementing a researched based preschool curriculum, administering developmentally appropriate activities for their students, assessing progress towards growth measures and maintaining confidential and accurate student records. A two day training for the curriculum will be required during the summer of 2024.
The candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and communicate effectively with adults and children from a variety of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. The candidate will also build rapport with parents, interact with children in a warm, nurturing way to ensure a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth and help move the Kittery School District Vision 2030 forward.
