Position Title: 3rd Grade Classroom Teacher (1 year only)Location: MitchellReports To: Alli Gamache, PrincipalPosition Start Date: August 28, 2024Required Certification: 020 (or certifiable in the State of Maine)Application Deadline: As soon as qualified candidate foundThe Kittery School District is currently seeking a full time 3rd grade teacher at Mitchell School for 1 year. The ideal candidate for this position will have a solid literacy and math background along with an understanding of developmentally appropriate instructional practices. The candidate will have experience monitoring and evaluating student data to develop and/or modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students. Direct experience with K-5 instruction is preferred.
The successful candidate will have the ability to create a classroom environment that promotes learning and personal growth; motivates students to develop the knowledge and attitude needed to ensure effective learning for themselves as well as their classmates. The candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and communicate effectively with adults and children from a variety of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. The candidate will also build rapport with parents, interact with children in a warm, nurturing way to ensure a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth and help move the Kittery School District Vision 2030 forward. You must be able to pass a background test through the State of Maine Education Department.
