Job Overview

Non-exempt,

full or part time position.

Theline cook is responsible for Farmer Boysoverall meal preparation and presentation ina consistent and efficient manner accordingto Farmer Boys’ standards while usingindependent decision-making. Employees inthis position provide customers with menuitems as quickly, conveniently, and efficientlyas possible in a friendly manner.

A line cook isalso required to work with other cooks andservers/cashiers in a team like and friendlymanner. Other duties as assigned.ResponsibilitiesAdheres to food safety and sanitationprocedures as trained and as directedby Manager in Charge.Prepares meals as assigned accordingto Farmer Boys cooking specificationsand customer requests.Ensures correct portioning, sizing,packaging, plate presentation,wrapping, freshness and speed ofservice.Follows food preparation sheet toensure appropriate stock levels foritems used and provides feedback tomanagement in regards to par levelsand usage.Notifies the manager of any perishableitems whose freshness is questionable.Operates, cleans and sharpens allappropriate food preparation

Reports all spoilage and poor qualityproducts to the manager immediately.Communicates with cashiers in afriendly and professional manner,ensuring correct order fulfillment.Maintains stock and cleanliness ofrequired work areas as directed by theManager in Charge.Follows the work schedule as posted,unless a change in the schedule isarranged with the Manager in Charge.Behavioral Skills NeededMust possess and display genuineconcern, care and empathy for allguests and their overall diningexperience.Must be detail oriented and disciplinedto complete assigned tasks in thepursuit of excellence.Must behave and act in accordancewith brand standards in all areas of foodsafety and food preparation.Must understand and achieve companyvision, mission, and goals.Must be able to work as a teammember and be an effectiverepresentative of the brand.Must possess ability to effectively workindependently or in teams, mindful of alltimetables.Food SafetyProactively protects critical limits andstandards assigned to product criticalcontrol points.Unwavering protection of the safety ofproduct above all other job priorities.Immediately notifies the Manager inCharge of any food safety risks.

Reads, understand and follows instructions and labeling system on all Material Safety Data Sheets. Job Requirements Minimum age requirement is 18.

0 – 3 years of cook or preparation cook or a combination of the 2.

Understands the importance of quality. Ability to take direction, read and comprehend written instructions. Must be able to present State or CountymandatedFoodHandlerCardwith inthetimeallowed by local governments

Minimum physicalrequirements

. May be working for periods of time in kitchen environments with higher ambient air temperatures than normal. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to the risk of fumes. The use of solvents and industrial degreasers are required regularly to clean equipment, tools and floors; the fumes occur when cleaning.
