Location: Caribbean Resort Overview: Our client, a prestigious resort nestled in the heart of the Caribbean, offers an unparalleled experience with 300 oceanfront rooms spread across two towers, a historic area featuring 20,000 square feet of meeting space, extensive grounds, and a collection of four restaurants with bars. Position Overview: The Director of Engineering (Head of Department level) plays a crucial role in maintaining the resort's infrastructure and ensuring a seamless operation. With a staff of 30 , the Director of Engineering will oversee the day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and improvements to the resort's facilities. Responsibilities:
Leadership: Provide energetic and hands-on leadership to the engineering team, fostering a culture of efficiency, excellence, and teamwork.
Maintenance and Repairs: Oversee the maintenance and repair activities for the entire resort, ensuring all facilities are in optimal condition.
Project Management: Lead and manage engineering projects, including renovations, upgrades, and new installations.
Compliance: Ensure all engineering operations comply with local regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the engineering department budget effectively, ensuring cost control and efficiency.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to support the overall success of the resort, especially during events and meetings.
Staff Development: Foster a positive and growth-oriented work environment, providing training and development opportunities for the engineering team.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a similar leadership position in a high-volume, fast-paced resort setting in the Caribbean.
Education: Relevant degree or certification in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a large engineering team, strong project management skills, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Caribbean Experience: Extensive experience working in the Caribbean, with an understanding of the unique challenges and dynamics of the region's hospitality industry.
Compensation:
Salary Range: 70K USD annual gross salary (negotiable based on qualifications).
Additional benefits include permit coverage, relocation assistance, flights, and in-house accommodations for up to 15 days.
