Performs administrative, supervisory, and professional work in the operation and maintenance of aquatics facilities and programs under direct supervision of aquatics coordinator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements and preferences listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required and/or preferred. Broad knowledge of such fields as aquatics, parks and rec, etc. A four-year college degree is preferred, and/or 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Considerable knowledge of recreation philosophy, planning and administration and considerable knowledge of the equipment, facilities, operations, and techniques used in a comprehensive community recreation program. Additional Skills • Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position. • First Aid and CPR certification • Minimum graduation from a high school or GED equivalent; a four-year college or university with a degree in recreation or a closely related field preferred, but not required. • Ability to develop, coordinate, and direct varied activities involved in a community recreation program. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, participants, instructors, community leaders, and the public. • Ability to maintain accurate records, type and enter data accurately. • Ability to effectively communicate with aquatics coordinator on a one-on-one basis with others. • Ability to maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with other employees, department officials and the public. • Ability to report to work each scheduled day, and on time.
