Quality Control Manager (QCM)

The Quality Control Manager (QCM) position entails the implementation, documentation, and execution of the quality control system of construction projects while creating and maintaining a safe work environment. The QCM ensures that projects comply with applicable plans, standards specifications, and construction practices including direct oversight and review of the entire documentation and physical inspection of the work flow process to ensure quality is maintained. QCM must have own vehicle, a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Must be able to pass a drug test.

Responsibilities:

  • Quality control oversight on construction/environmental projects
  • Ensure all work is in compliance with contract requirements
  • Review shop drawings for conformance with project specifications
  • Verify and document that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal
  • Prepare daily QC reports and submit on a daily basis to the contracting officer
  • Timely completion and collection of inspection reports, as required
  • Maintain project master schedule using CPM techniques
  • Prepare weekly and monthly quality assurance reports
  • Inspect field sites and identify any problems or inaccuracies
  • Lead and evaluate employee and sub-contractor performance
  • Remove individuals whose work does not comply with contract plan and specifications
  • Maintain a tracking system to monitor identified deficiencies and implement plans to ensure their resolution

Qualifications:

  • Certificate of completion for USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors course with date of completion
  • Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
  • 10 years working on federally funded construction projects
  • 7 years of overseeing all quality aspects of the project including implementing the USACE’s 3 phase inspection process
  • Experience with the Army Corps of Engineers and Federal contracting is highly desired
  • Ability to complete work independently in a timely manner
  • Ability to resolve problems and find solutions
  • Good Computer knowledge and efficiency, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment that may require long hours, including nights and weekends
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills

Travel:

Must be willing to temporarily relocate on an as-needed basis.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to wet, humid condition airborne particles, and extreme heat or cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud and may require protective equipment.
