Pawnee Waste located in Grover, CO is searching for an EXPERIENCED, HIGHLY-MOTIVATED, & RELIABLE Facilities Maintenance Technician (Handyman/Repairman). Applicant must be able to demonstrate several years experience to be considered for the role.

The Maintenance Handyman is responsible for the upkeep and repair of facilities for multiple operating entities. The duties include performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and completing general repairs. You will need to possess a diverse skill set encompassing various trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general repairs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct routine inspections of various operating entities to identify maintenance and/or repair needs and address any issues promptly.
• Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Handle basic landscaping duties including lawn care, snow removal, and outdoor maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inspections.
• Assist with the installation and assembly of items as necessary.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of supplies and equipment necessary for maintenance tasks.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance duties to ensure a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with other team members and contractors to complete larger projects or tasks requiring specialized expertise.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in maintenance and repair techniques.
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in a relevant trade is preferred.
• Proven experience in maintenance, repair, or handyman work.
• Proficiency in various trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
• Good communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with coworkers, vendors, and management.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to maintenance work.
• Valid driver's license. Company vehicle will be provided.

COMMUNICATIONS/INTERACTIONS:

• Routine interaction with management and staff in the execution of his/her duties.
• Direct interaction with contractors on specific projects.
• Limited interaction with vendors and customers.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• All work is performed on-site at operating entities, in wide ranging climatic conditions.
• Risk of exposure to dust, and potentially toxic materials.
• Must wear all assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain same in proper condition for use.
• The position may require occasional overtime or irregular hours on short notice.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and physical stamina to perform manual labor regularly.
• Agility to work in confined spaces and at heights when necessary.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The successful candidate will be required to pass a drug screen, background check, and physical exam after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
