Due to unprecedented, rapid growth at Garber Chevrolet Highland, we have an immediate need for 5 Super Stars to join our Service Department team! The right candidate will be eligible for initial training and ongoing General Motors Automotive Technician and Automotive Standards of Excellence technician training PLUS an automotive repair tool and tool box allowance! Prior automotive repair shop, tire store, or automotive dealership service department experience is required. We highly encourage recent Automotive Tech School graduates to apply. Technician Responsibilities
Complete basic automotive services like oil changes, filter replacements, mounting and balancing tires, tire repairs, and more
Train with mid and senior level automotive technicians to learn additional automotive services
Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order
Successfully pass and remain current on all certifications
Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
Qualifications
Prior professional experience as a technician / lube tech
Strong automotive background
Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
Strong teamwork skills
Willing to submit to a drug screen & background check
Must have clean & valid driver's license
General Motors experience is a plus
