uAspire is Hiring a Scholarship Manager (Hybrid) Near Bay, AR

POSITION SUMMARY:The Scholarship Manager will oversee the launch and delivery of a new scholarship in San Francisco. The Scholarship Manager manages and administers the scholarship, builds partnerships within the community, and develops content and materials to deliver to students, practitioners, and community-based organizations. They will continuously seek to improve the scholarship program by identifying opportunities for growth through collaboration with internal and external learning and evaluation partners and elevating student needs and experiences.
The successful candidate is organized and detail-oriented, a strong collaborator and communicator, and interested in creating systems and processes to ensure that this scholarship program is effectively implemented, sustainable, and meets San Francisco's students' needs. This position also requires innovation and creativity in managing the scholarship process, connecting with the community, and delivering scholarship funds to students.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Community and Student Engagement and External Communication
  • Design and develop scholarship materials and content for students and other external stakeholders
  • Develop partnerships with local schools, school counselors, and community-based organizations
  • Implement a communication plan for external stakeholders within the community
  • Design a student and scholar engagement plan
Content Creation and Facilitation
  • Create student-facing content on scholarship details, college expenses, financial literacy, and other relevant topics
  • Plan and facilitate student workshops on scholarship completion, details, college expenses, and financial literacy
  • Identify additional needed content areas that will help scholars prepare for and succeed in college
Scholarship Processing, Selection and Student Notification
  • Prepare scholarship application processes for students and coordinate scholarship application reading/scoring, student notification, and fund distribution
  • Develop and document scholarship protocols for consistent and equitable scholarship distribution
  • Act as liaison between uAspire and students/families and other stakeholders to provide information and resources regarding scholarship offerings
  • Lead communications with scholarship funders and other external stakeholders
  • Create awareness of the scholarship offerings to prospective recipients and the broader community
  • Host individual advising sessions for students to support them with scholarship completion
Internal Communication and Support
  • Work with the learning and evaluation team to measure the impact of scholarship and associated activities and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with the Bay Area advising team on scholar support
  • Collaborate with the Advancement team to ensure the proper delivery of funded commitments related to the scholarship program
  • Complete data entry as needed.
  • Work closely with the Advancement Team for scholarship-related events
  • Support the Innovation & Impact Operations team by assisting with special projects as assigned

Education, Experience & Skills:
  • Postsecondary degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Commitment to working and participating in an organization dedicated to ensuring a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment and interest in building upon that culture
  • Experience working with and motivating diverse college-aged populations including students who are Pell-eligible (low/moderate income), students of color, and the first in their families to attend college
  • Strong customer service with demonstrated ability to build and steward relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial, non-profit setting is preferred
  • Creative and resourceful problem solver
  • Advanced organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in an efficient, deadline focused, and effective manner
  • Proactive attitude, out of the box thinking, good sense of humor
  • Ability to work occasional flexible hours that will include some early mornings, evenings and some weekends
ANTICIPATED START DATE: July 8, 2024
COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is $70,500-$81,100 depending on experience, education, and competencies.

STATUS: Exempt, full time
