I. PURPOSE OF POSITION
Troubleshoots slot machines and other gaming and non-gaming related equipment. Perform repairs to correct minor mechanical, electrical, and electronic failures. Provides high-quality guest services. Follows established policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and internal controls.
II. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
A. Reports Directly to: Slot Technician Supervisor or Slot Manager
B. Supervises Directly: N/A
III. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
A. Diagnoses faulty slot equipment.
B. Safely and effectively operates hand tools, including, but not limited to, soldering equipment, and electronic test equipment. Uses appropriate safety precautions when working with electrical power, power supplies, and CRT monitors.
C. Maintains proper documentation of department repair logs, shift logs, PM logs, and MECS.
D. Consistently uses machine entry procedures to proactively identify or prevent future equipment problems.
E. Installs, moves, removes, and modifies related stands, signage and machines.
F. Responds to floor calls in a timely manner.
G. Maintains security of equipment records and funds.
H. Follows policies and procedures as they relate to technical operations. Provides input on how policies and procedures may be streamlined to enhance performance or improve safety and security of equipment.
I. Provides exceptional service to customers and employees when performing job duties and conducts oneself in a professional and businesslike manner to reflect Nooksack Casino’s high standard of excellence.
J. Shares information with other departments to facilitate their successful performance.
K. Complies with established policies and procedures and applicable tribal, state, federal, and NIGC regulations and laws.
L. Because of the Casino’s commitment to our guests and customer service, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.
IV. QUALIFICATIONS
A. Required:
1. Minimum of six months related experience and/or technical training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Must be able to obtain and maintain valid Class III gaming licenses from the Nooksack Gaming Commission and the Washington State Agency Gambling Commission.
3. Must be at least 18 years of age.
B. Preferred:
1. Associate’s degree (A.S.) or certificate in a technical discipline from a two-year college or technical school.
2. Previous Slot Technician experience.
3. Experience using desktop publishing and graphics software.
4. Strong electronic/mechanical background.
V. WORKING CONDITIONS
A. May work in a noisy, crowded, and smoke-filled environment.
B. Exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles.
C. Will be monitored by surveillance cameras.
D. May be required to work various shifts and days, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
VI. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
A. Walks for long periods of time.
B. Occasionally lifts, pushes, pulls and/or moves objects up to 85 pounds.
C. Repetitive movement of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
D. Occasionally stands and sits for sustained periods of time.
E. Occasionally stoops and crouches.
VII. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
A. Knowledge of casino operations, relevant policies and procedures, and internal controls.
B. Knowledge of slot machine hardware and software systems.
C. Knowledge of parts ordering and stocking systems.
D. Knowledge of desktop publishing and graphics software.
E. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
F. Skill in reading and comprehending electronic schematics.
G. Organization, time management, and multitasking skills.
H. Communication and interpersonal skills.
I. Ability to verbally communicate detailed instructions accurately, loudly, and quickly.
J. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with department heads and employees.
K. Ability to identify and resolve administrative problems under pressure conditions.
