Calvert County Nursing Center seeks dedicated candidate to grow our nursing department. The ideal candidate should be outgoing,energetic & have the ability to work in a fast paced setting.

Essential Functions

• Attend care plan meetings - coordinating to ensure overall physical, emotional, and social needs are being met. In addition, observe that items in care plan are being properly implemented and provided.
• Oversee/direct/coordinate/train nursing staff. If there are clinical staff members that are not following protocol or if there is a disagreement between other team members, DON must work with Admin and HR to resolve, re-educate, or follow through with corrective action if needed.
• Communicate and coordinate with physicians, discharge planners or appropriate facility representatives from health care facilities regarding resident admissions, transfers and discharges as needed
• Keep current with the changes in all regulations that impact patient care that are provided by the state and company.
• Communicate with attending physician and medical director regarding patient care issues as needed
• Perform direct care/procedures when needed; such may include procedures for which the staff is not qualified or licensed to perform
• Develop and verify implementation of POCs
• Attend QA meetings
• Careful review/audit of clinical records, QA reports, and charts.
• Ability to be on call.

Requirements:

• Must have an Active RN License in the state of Maryland.
• Must have at least 2 years of management experience in a facility setting.
• RUG Certification and experience with PCC preferred.
