Our story began on January 6, 1964 in Lafayette, California with a small group of young adults, their parents and the founding Director, Helen Young. Sixty (60) years later, Futures continues to serve the same population now, in several counties in California. Like our founders, we can better appreciate the world and humanity through the eyes of our clients. They have intellectual and developmental disabilities, and they want to continue experiencing the world around them – much like everyone else. Essential Functions and Duties:
We are seeking two (2) stellar professionals who would open the gateways to the big wide world for our participants and lead them to a journey of self-discovery and anticipation.
You will be their teacher of courage when they face the unknowns, to believe in themselves even when things are tough, helping participants realize their individual goals as outlined on the ISP. Indeed, your job is crucial, you will lift Future’s beacon in the areas of community integration, education, self-care and self-advocacy and supported employment -- to empower those who may seem powerless, to the rest of the world.
