Job Summary
The Children’s Home (CHWC,) a comprehensive child and family serving agency with 650 employees, is seeking a dynamic individual to lead our recruitment efforts and commitment to a diverse and inclusive workforce at all levels.
Under the direction of the VP of Strategic Initiatives , the Director will design, develop and implement strategic recruiting programs throughout the Organization . This key position will collaborate closely with the Director of Human Resources and Hiring Committee, and will serve as co-chair of the existing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Committee.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
1. Design, develop and implement innovative outreach programs using diversity and inclusion best practice in support of CHWC’s strategic initiatives.
2. Create comprehensive recruitment strategies including advertising plans, outreach, working with area colleges and traveling to CHWC sites to promote and develop community-specific recruitment plans.
3. Network and develop relationships with qualified candidates.
4. Participate in recruitment events throughout New York State and Northern Pennsylvania.
5. Foster strong candidate relationships in person, via telephone, email, and social media.
6. Work with Agency Social Media team to develop strategies to position CHWC as an employer of choice.
7. Work collaboratively with the training department to evaluate and adapt onboarding and ongoing trainings.
8. Review applicants for key positions and serve as a guide throughout the hiring process.
9. Work with Agency recruiters and hiring managers to maintain a welcoming, engaging initial experience for all applicants.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This will be a mixture of in office, community, and hybrid work. Travel within service areas and hiring venues is required. Occasional schedule flexibility is required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Marketing, Communications, Business or related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement. Two years’ experience in targeted recruitment preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
· Recruitment best practices,
· Social media outreach practices on multiple platforms,
· Automated applicant tracking and human resource information systems.
Skills in:
· Effective oral and written communication of policies, procedures, legal concepts, etc.,
· Good judgment and decision-making,
· Development of positive working relationships,
· Planning and organizing multiple priorities.
· Computer technology used for communication, data collection and reporting.
Ability to:
· Communicate to a variety of audiences.
· Work with diverse, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community, staff, families and youth,
· Work independently and as part of a team.
