About the Position:

We are seeking a part time Office Assistant to work in our pediatric therapy clinic(s) located in Washington, DC & Arlington, VA. We have a position open at both our Washington, DC clinic.

Washington, DC hours - Monday through Friday - 2:00 pm to 6:00/30 pm

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree preferred
  • 1 years experience in medical office administration, reception,
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Role of an Office Assistant:

  • Answer phone calls and e-mails, greeting patients and prospective patients and reminding them of upcoming appointments
  • Scheduling appointments for patient consultations, procedures and visits with medical personnel
  • Liaise and coordinate with therapists about schedules, patients and any changes
  • Accept and submit and payment
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts as they occur

Some but not all additional Duties as a Therapy Aide:

Throughout the day:

  • Clean equipment AND TARPS after sessions (look for “to be cleaned” signs)
  • Clean toys in “to be cleaned” bins and put away
  • Check in kids at the door (take their temperature and let their therapist know they have arrived)

AM Duties:

  • Put away items in the "48 Hour" bin and shift bins down
  • Open several gym windows and at least one in every small room
  • Wipe down tables and chairs in treatment rooms and waiting room
  • Check and re-fill water pitchers in refrigerators
  • Collect laundry from both suites and wash/put away
  • Refill bottles of disinfectant spray
  • Refill paper towels, hand soap, and cups at all sinks
  • Clean dishes in sink; load dishwasher and run/put away and change sign to dirty/clean
  • Wipe down glass doors, all door handles (including fridges), and light switches
  • Check mail

PM Duties:

  • Close all open windows
  • Clean the treatment space schedules after final sessions have started
  • Put trash bags in black trash can & place in hall (both suites, not Friday)

Physical Requirements:

  • Duties require extensive standing, walking and sitting.
  • Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, assisting with moving objects.
  • Duties require frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
