Description

Primary responsibility is to coordinate college-wide academic support services in the tutoring center. This position provides support to students requiring tutoring resources, including assistance with subject matter, scheduling with tutoring staff, or assisting with other services. The position is also responsible for the scheduling of Tutoring part-time staff to ensure full coverage at center locations as well as preparation of materials and reports.

This is a Support Staff union position as stated in the Support Staff collective bargaining agreement- Grade 12

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Plan and develop part-time staff schedules for Tutoring Center within the budget.

Assist with tutoring coverage for day, evening, and weekend services.

Collaborate with college departments on campus projects, academic involvement, volunteer tutors and initiatives involving tutoring services.

Assist with all department communication, including responding to department emails and voicemails.

Create and maintain external and internal websites for the Tutoring Center.

Develop and maintain effective marketing strategies for Tutoring services.

Assist with onboarding and training part-time tutoring personnel.

Work with the Tutoring Center Manager to develop and / or maintain all programs related to grant funded activities.

Orders Tutoring Center supplies.

Works with Tutoring Center Manager to coordinate all special projects within the tutoring department, including first year student, college readiness grant students, etc.

Coordinate all reports regarding tutoring services, inclusive of center use, virtual tutoring services and all center related programming.

Performs other duties as assigned.

The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Required:

Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Experience Required:

A minimum of three years' work experience in an academic support service, preferably in tutoring environments.

Demonstrated ability to identify, implement, and maintain technology

Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements

Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

Ability to engage and contribute effectively in planning, organizing, and scheduling.

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Experience in working with students, staff, and faculty of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.

Efficient time management skills and a commitment to serving the college community.

Additional Information

INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:

Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
