LBA Hospitality is Hiring a Resident General Manager Near Nashville, TN

BA Hospitality is now hiring a dynamic Resident General Manager for the upcoming StayAPT property located in Lebanon, TN! This full-time leadership position manages the property's day-to-day operations and team of associates.

This position includes on-site accommodations of a 2 bedroom apartment, including all utilities (electric, water, high-speed internet, etc.). This is a salaried position ranging between $55-65,000 per year. Additional benefits available include paid holidays, paid time off, insurance (medical, dental, life, vision, disability, etc.), 401k with employer match, quarterly BONUS plan, and so much MORE!

Job Summary

The Resident General Manager will live on the property (accommodations provided) and oversee personnel and daily operational tasks. This role will ensure consistency in the quality of standards, maximization of financial returns, development of people, execution of brand standards, and building awareness of our offerings in the local community.

Prerequisites

Company associates have access to guestrooms and property. As such, character traits of honesty and trustworthiness are essential to this position and must be displayed at all times. Per company policy, potential associates must pass appropriate security clearances.

  • College Degree (BS/BA) preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Five years experience supervisory experience preferred
  • Three years experience in hotel management, including managing budgets.
  • Three years experience with extended stay properties preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Must be able to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift and/or carry 30 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be able to stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, and reach.
  • Must be able to communicate with other associates and/or guests.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge:

  • Must have thorough knowledge of government regulations as applicable to the hotel industry
  • Knowledge of industry safety standards
  • Knowledge of accounting processes, including receivables, payables, budgets, invoices, payroll
  • Practical knowledge of LBA rules, policies, and procedures

 Skills:

  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal, including group presentations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Proficient in written and verbal English.
  • Financial analysis skills to assess potential business opportunities and whether or not they contribute to the success of the business.
  • Project management skills (i.e., organizing, multitasking).

  • Relates well with others and has the flexibility to work with a team
  • Analyze work for accuracy of self and others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Leadership skills to develop and counsel subordinate associates

 Abilities:

  • Multi-task, remain associate and guest service centric.
  • Effectively communicate with guests, department heads, associates, and home office support staff.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a stressful atmosphere.

  • Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.

Specific Responsibilities

  1. Deliver excellent first impressions for all guests and potential guests, ensuring special requests are filled
  2. Responsible for local sales and marketing calls on local demand generators, taking ownership of the entire sales process including market share shift strategy.
  3. Hire, train, coach, counsel, and develop Associates to their highest level of success.
  4. Work with the team to coordinate and provide excellence in housekeeping, maintenance, sales, and operations.
  5. Provide leadership and management to Associates in conjunction with the company's purpose, brand, and culture.
  6. Schedule Associates according to business demands and requests.
  7. Responsible for the proper administration of key control.
  8. Manage online reviews to improve property and brand reputation on key platforms.
  9. Ensure safety and security processes and procedures are in place, followed, and utilized.
  10. Know all hotel emergency procedures. Demonstrate and train all associates on these procedures, and inform leadership of any safety hazards.
  11. Manage financial processes and be responsible for secure cash handling and processing procedures.
  12. Assist in planning, managing, and attending guest events.
  13. Report to executive team specific changes needed to continue to be the first choice for extended stay travelers.
  14. Manage all responsibilities related to licenses and contracts.
  15. Responsible for the property’s operational success and profitability through effective P&L management within budgetary guidelines.
  16. Must be readily available if there is an emergency and to effectively handle emergency situations.
  17. Other duties as assigned, that the associates are capable of performing.

Working Conditions/Special Requirements

  • This position requires a physical presence at the hotel and is not conducive to telecommuting or remote work.
  • The ability to drive on behalf of the company and maintain a valid driver’s license is required.
  • Standing, and walking for long periods of time while maintaining a friendly professional image. 
  • May be required to work any day/shift, including weekends
  • Periodic overnight travel required may be required.
  • Resident General Managers are required to live on the property. Accommodations of a 2 bedroom apartment are provided for the Resident General Manager. Utilities, including high-speed internet, are included.
