We are seeking a motivated student who has a strong interest in the design, manufacturing, and sustaining of complex systems in the field of life science. Bio-Rad is looking for a Software Development intern who gets excited about product development, prototype testing and analysis, and systems integration!

Responsibilities

• Use best software development practices to design and develop reliable and maintainable software for embedded systems used in commercial products and in-house diagnostic tools.
• Create tools, utilities, and scripts to aid development team(s).
• Implement embedded software solutions and algorithms to enable electromechanical system operations including graphical user interfaces, feedback control, and hardware and software interface communications.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and system testing, investigate and resolve issues, and perform debugging.
• Collaborate on designs and participate in cross-functional teams to support product development and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related discipline (recent graduates will also be considered).
• Must have a 3.0 cumulative overall GPA or better (on a 4.0 scale).
• Strong coding skills in Python and C .
• Experience with real-time operating systems and an understanding of real-time issues.
• Problem solving, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Able to work for a minimum of 10 consecutive weeks.
• Strong initiative and ability to work independently and in teams.
• Inspire collaboration, be a curious question asker, driven and self-motivated.
