Congressional Federal Credit Union is Hiring a Branch Service Representative II Near Washington, DC

The Branch Service Representative II provides members with value added, timely, accurate service. Display a thorough knowledge of products and services. Conducts basic member needs analysis for the purpose of cross-selling deposit and loan products and/or referring to the appropriate business partner for additional services.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Build long term member relationships through understanding the members borrowing, planning for the future, personal financial needs money management and future needs and providing appropriate solutions.
  • Provide value added follow up and continue to develop member relationships over time. Actively participate in the credit union sales process of establishing rapport, setting direction, exploring needs, linking capabilities to needs and gaining commitment to next steps.
  • Accurately addresses member needs and resolves member issues throughout the business day.
  • Actively applies a working knowledge of policies and procedures.
  • Maintains compliance, operational integrity, and member security at all times. May assists other branch staff with complex transactions or processes.
  • Proactively cross-sell credit union products and services, refer members to the appropriate business partner for additional services.
  • Meet or exceed sales and referral goals.
  • Welcomes members by name, provide a high level of service and builds relationships with members. Facilitates problem resolution in a timely and seamless fashion. Leveraging established relationships asks for new member referrals.

Experience and Desired Skills:

  • Minimum two to five years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school degree or a
    • A two-year college degree or
    • Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or
    • Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position.
  • Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature.
  • Work may involve motivating or influencing others.
  • Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
  • Good Communication skills required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate with staff, members and the public.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and to occasionally lift and move items up to 20 lbs. in weight.
