SAIC is seeking Software Product Manager to join our energized team as we embark on a large AI initiative for the Department of Defense.

The Software Product Manager is responsible for guiding the success of the software product and leading a cross-function team that is tasked with improving the software to meet the customer’s evolving needs. The ideal candidate serves as the business owner for the software product, defining design goals and developing innovative solutions to meet the needs of the users. The Software Product Manager collaborates with various teams, such as engineering, technology architecture, and user experience to guide the implementation of software to development to meet user needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Defines a vision and strategy for the software product to meet user requirements.
• Oversees and manages the software development lifecycle and develops a product roadmap that outlines the product's features, timeline, and priorities to ensure that the product is delivered on time and within budget.
• Engages stakeholders in the design process, including design sprints, technology scouting, crowdsourcing, and component-based design. Provides stakeholder engagement and integration from across the Defense Department, Services and Combatant Commands.
• Plans and manages requirements gathering, pilot design, and pilot execution.
• Establishes centralized resources for creating, managing, and maintaining products through continuous improvement.
• Leverages user-centered design methods to provide support for software development efforts.
• Ensures that the software solution is successfully meeting users' needs.
• Tracks progress against plan and resolving any variances as soon as they are identified.
• Manages software project scope by making tradeoffs between competing software requirements, such as time vs. cost and software security vs. speed.
• Manages the development process and the team members to ensure a quick and efficient product launch.
• Defines opportunities and solution concepts for future innovation.
• Develops status reports for external and executive stakeholders.
• Addresses security issues.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship
• Active TS security clearance with SCI eligibility
• A bachelor’s degree in software development, computer science, or product management, or a related field with 14 years experience or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
• Proven work experience as a product manager, software developer, or project manager.
• Certifications from in product management or software-related fields.
• Extensive knowledge of the software development process and product management.
• An ability to manage and participate in the Daily Scrum and Sprint Planning.
• A deep understanding of the product vision, product launch, and other concepts.
• Knowledge of agile methodology and Minimum Viable Product concepts.
• Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder communication, including working with cross-functional teams and managing all of them simultaneously.
• Great interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, and research skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• A master’s degree in in software development, information systems, computer science, or product management, or a related field.
• Experience with one of the large cloud-computing infrastructure solutions similar to AWS, MS Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment, data platforms including Spark, Databricks, or similar.
• Experience testing and supporting cloud applications.
• Familiarity with Department of Defense operations, requirements, and organizations.

Target salary range: $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
