Our client is looking to hire a hungry and highly self-motivated Software Product Manager - Transport Management Solutions to join their growing European team!

They are seeking a strategic and dynamic Software Product Manager with 3 years of experience in the logistics, freight forwarding or transport industry to join their team. As a Software Product Manager for their transport management software, you will play a key role in driving the development and execution of their product vision, focusing on delivering innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of their customers and the market. The ideal candidate will possess a forward-looking mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-based decision-making environment.

Here is a little window into the company: our client is a dynamic and innovative SaaS company specializing in the transportation and logistics industry. They develop and operate digital software tools for the tracking, optimization and optimization of logistics processes for companies that plan and carry out transport services. Their software supports all operational processes along the entire transport chain. The system is the perfect complement to our demanding, international customers' existing specialized software, ERP and WMS environment.

The company was acquired by a Corporation and now operates under their operational arm, which manages their global portfolio of wholly owned software companies, providing mission-critical solutions across multiple verticals. By implementing industry best practices, they deliver a time-sensitive integration process, and the operation of a decentralized model has allowed it to become a hub for creating rapid growth by reinvesting in its portfolio.

The successful candidate will live within commutable distance of their office in Munich and work in an on-site work model!

What your day will look like:

  • Product Strategy: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to formulate and maintain a clear product vision and strategy for their transport management solutions, aligned with market trends, technological developments, customer needs, and company goals.
  • Roadmap Planning: Define and maintain the product roadmap in collaboration with a product council, prioritizing features and enhancements based on industry expertise, market research, and strategic objectives.
  • Market Observation: Continuously monitor market trends, industry dynamics, and competitive analysis to inform product strategy and decision-making.
  • User Research: Conduct in-depth user research within their target industries, gathering insights to understand customer pain points, preferences, and emerging trends.
  • External Product Documentation: Develop comprehensive product documentation, including product descriptions, release notes, and product presentations for external stakeholders.
  • Prepare Demonstration Environment and Showcases: Create and manage demonstration environments to showcase product features and capabilities to potential customers and partners.
  • Internal Product Information Sharing: Facilitate internal communication and knowledge sharing by presenting new features, updates, and product roadmaps to internal teams.
  • Implement Functional Acceptance Testing: Define and implement functional acceptance testing processes to ensure product quality and alignment with user requirements.
  • Organize Product Council: Drive regular product council meetings involving key stakeholders to discuss strategy, prioritize initiatives, and address challenges. Coordinate and moderate discussions and activities within the product council, ensuring productive meetings and actionable outcomes. Act as a representative for strategic market objectives within the product council, advocating for strategic initiatives and market opportunities.
  • Implement Customer Advisory Board: Establish and manage a customer advisory board to gather feedback and insights for product improvements and enhancements.
  • Form and Maintain Strategic Partnerships: Identify, establish, and nurture strategic partnerships within the supply chain and logistics ecosystem to enhance product offerings and market reach.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline highly advantageous
  • Missing academic credentials can be compensated by in-depth experience in relevant roles
  • 3 years of experience in the Logistics, Freight Forwarding or Transport industry, with a proven track record in product management and/or implementation of logistics applications highly desirable
  • Strategic, forward-looking mindset with the ability to anticipate market trends and customer needs
  • Dynamic, outspoken, and able to form and communicate clear opinions effectively
  • Comfortable working in a team-based decision-making environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and product management tools
  • Fluent in German and at least a professional level of English, both written and verbal, is essential
  • Legally authorized to work in Germany
