American Association of Nurse Anesthetists is Hiring a Remote Professional Development Assistant

This position is considered Hybrid with an expectation to be in the Rosemont, IL office 1-3 times a month for All Staff Meetings, trainings, and department meetings. This role is a Non-Exempt, hourly position. The compensation for this role will be based on experience within the given range on the job posting.

SUMMARY

The Professional Development Assistant supports the Professional Development Department by providing operational and division specific support. This position works with AANA staff, CRNA subject matter experts, contract employees to ensure the development and delivery of high-quality professional development programing. The ideal candidate for this position will have a "customer service" oriented approach and a highly organized work ethic. This role will have a structured work flow, but is also an opportunity to help our new Learning Management System (LMS) by creating and supporting new efficiencies.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative Support

  • Complete continuing education (CE) approval applications for all AANA developed CE programs (live and virtual)
  • Facilitate the abstract selection process for AANA’s live meetings
  • Pull evaluation data for all live events and develop associated executive summaries
  • Work with AANA meetings staff to assist with integrate of mobile App for all meetings
  • Collaborate with Member Services on Professional Development related inquires
  • Supports the Director of Professional Development with year-long planning of all AANA CE activities.

Committee Support

  • Assists the Director of Professional Development with committee tasks as necessary. These activities include communicating with volunteers, processing documentation for the committee appointments, assisting in committee orientation, preparing meeting agendas and materials, and assisting with committee meeting planning.
  • Assists with scheduling calls and taking minutes during the meetings.
  • Assists committees with relevant charges that need completion as assigned by the Director of Professional Development.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Experience:

  • Previous experience in administrative work in professional development or continuing education is desired, but not required.
  • Must have experience with data entry and proficiency in Microsoft office products.
  • Data-base, Association Management System experience desirable

  • Flexibility with a changing work environment and ability to effectively prioritize multiple ongoing projects.
  • Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Possesses sound skills requiring tact, diplomacy and ability to analyze and communicate information.
  • Able to handle confidential information in a discreet manner.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Can work quickly and efficiently, without compromising quality.
  • Thinks creatively and can initiate ideas and suggestions that go beyond what has been literally requested or required when given an assignment.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • A bachelor’s degree is desired but not required.

Physical Requirements:

Performs primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including PCs, telephones, copier’s facsimiles and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
