The Assistant Custodial Supervisor plays a vital role in the efficient custodial management of Campbellsville University's campus. Under the guidance of the Custodial Supervisor, this position combines hands-on custodial duties with supervisory responsibilities. Normal custodial function is expected. This includes comprehensive cleaning and all related activities of an assigned building(s). Additionally, the individual will oversee a defined area, ensuring that custodial tasks are completed to the university's standards. This role involves leadership functions such as scheduling, training, quality control (inspections), adherence to safety protocols, equipment management, and emergency response, contributing to the overall cleanliness and maintenance of campus facilities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform custodial tasks in a designated area, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
- Assist in scheduling and assigning work to custodial staff, covering for absent or vacationing personnel as needed.
- Support custodial training initiatives and enforce safety protocols within the team.
- Manage equipment and materials, testing new products and recommending changes when appropriate.
- Conduct regular custodial inspections to monitor and maintain the quality of work.
- Act as a primary point of contact for all emergency and on-call custodial responses on campus.
- Coordinate and respond promptly to urgent custodial needs, ensuring a swift and effective resolution.
- Undertake special projects as directed, including organizing work crews and schedules for various tasks.
- Support event set-ups and collaborate with other departments to ensure successful execution.
- Assist with the management of custodial schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintain open communication with the Custodial Supervisor and other stakeholders.
- Share and utilize personal phone contact details for work-related communications when necessary.
- High School Diploma required; Associate's/ Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of custodial experience, preferably in an educational setting.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, after-hours, weekends, and be on-call for emergencies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently, demonstrating leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to embrace and implement safety protocols, and actively contribute to ongoing training initiatives.
- Proficient in organizing and overseeing work crews, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
