Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Transition Specialist - Boca Raton, FL.
FAU CARD (Center for Autism & Related Disabilities) provides expert consulting, training and support, at no charge, for all people with autism and related disabilities, their families, employers, the professionals and community and governmental agencies serving them. We help bridge needs with resources and services for individuals with ASD.
Summary of Responsibilities:

• Work one-on-one with families, supporting transitioning students and adults with autism in the areas of transition, employment, person-centered planning, and self-determination.
• Act as the main point person for transition constituents and their families.
• Provide support and assistance to families, teachers, and other professionals working with transition-aged individuals with autism and related disabilities.
• Deliver transition services to persons with autism across the FAU CARD region. With parent and guardian assent, conduct screenings for children and adolescents suspected of having developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder.
• Consult with the transition program team and professionals in the community to ensure a high level of service delivery.
• Deliver DIFAs, Consultations, and Technical Assistance to constituents, families, and professionals.
• Coordinate parent support and learning activities.
• Research, connect to, and liaise with a wide range of educational supports in the community for parents, focusing on culturally relevant, local, inclusive resources that parents can engage with at all steps of their journey.
• Provide support and assistance to families, teachers, and others working with individuals with autism and related disabilities.
• Facilitate training, workshops, and groups.
• Provide ongoing, case-managed support for families.
• Represent FAU CARD on transition-specific community boards and task forces.
• Document contacts, DIFAs, training, consultation, and public education.
• Have expertise in transition and serve as a resource for all clinical staff.
• Attend conferences and professional development trainings.
• Engage with professional development that maintains certifications and/or licenses.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization required.
Demonstrated commitment to the highest ethical standards of professional practice, as well as an understanding of, and commitment to, diversity issues in the delivery and management of clinical services required.
Strong program development and evaluation skills for clinical utilization required.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.

Experience with and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
Bilingual/multilingual.
Knowledge of Publisher.
Salary:
$62,000 - $70,000 per year.
