The District Manager oversees the leadership and direction of the convenience stores in their applicable district. This role achieves maximum profitability by ensuring stores are operating at the standards set forth by the company. This includes but is not limited to, maximizing financial output for your district, successfully initiating new store growth, driving the performance of existing stores, and demonstrating excellence in operational execution. The position encompasses customer growth, sales revenue, merchandise presentations, the ability to recruit, develop and retain talent, and execution of all corporate initiatives.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to direct reports, including, but not limited to, recruiting, hiring, training and development, and establishing expectations for Store Directors regarding recruiting, hiring and training store team members
  • Implement Company initiatives, business plans and budgets in collaboration with the Sr Director, Regional Operations and Store Directors
  • Accountable for delivering financial performance in the district through effective P&L management, delivering the best customer experience and driving a culture of coaching, engagement and teamwork throughout your district
  • Drive a customer-centric culture by ensuring that processes, communications and rewards are designed to incent premium customer service
  • Lead Store Directors to implement best practices, measure operational efficiencies, continuously improve productivity and achieve operational standards of excellence
  • Actively engages with the Food Service initiatives, ensuring policies and procedures are followed that maximize sales and productivity while managing waste and ensuring food safety
  • Understand local market and competitive landscape, sharing findings with Sr Director, Regional Operations and respond to changing market conditions and competitor actions to achieve financial targets
  • In conjunction with the Sr Director, Regional Operations, lead the succession planning, workforce planning and human capital development initiatives within your district
  • Facilitate the ongoing development of Store Director and store teams by ensuring all Company training programs are delivered and ensure compliance with all government regulations as they apply to the stores in your district
  • Ability to travel overnight as needed, up to 80% of the time, and be on call 24/7 to respond to emergencies
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to perform the following physical behaviors repetitively throughout a shift: standing, walking, handling, reaching horizontally and grasping firmly
  • Must be able to perform the following physical behaviors frequently throughout a shift: reaching above the shoulder, reaching below the waist, pushing buttons, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, and pushing
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Work safely with equipment that can create and hold very high temperatures using appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Must work in cold environments for short periods

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or in related field preferred
Qualifications: Experience
  • 5 years of previous retail management experience in positions of increasing responsibility required
  • 3 years of foodservice management experience in a restaurant, bakery or fast-food environment preferred, with emphasis in ready to eat foods; experience in a convenience store environment a plus
  • Multi-unit management experience a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)

  • Ability to assess performance using key metrics, quickly identify improvement opportunities, and develop and implement an appropriate action plan to address issues

  • Self-starter attitude and exceptional leadership skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Extensive knowledge of food safety principles including FIFO, cross-contamination, and temperatures for storing, holding, reheating and serving safe food
