The primary responsibility of this position is to safely transport new patients to our facility for admissions and to aftercare locations following discharge.

Drivers may also transport patients to other locations for medical appointments or travel.

Essential Duties

Understands duties and responsibilities of safe driving practices.

Able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant action in a timely manner

• Assist clients with loading and unloading their luggage. Able to lift luggage and packages up to 50 pounds frequently
• Maintain patient / staff boundaries during all transports.
• Follow traffic laws and correctly route trips, ensuring that there is enough gas in the tank at all times for each destination.
• Maintain vehicle to assure it remains neat and clean.

Remain focused and attentive to road conditions, weather, hazards, and other moving vehicles at all times, adjusting route to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions

Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure safety.

Maintain a clean interior and exterior in company vehicles

Gains and acts on knowledge of laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to outpatient treatment security.

Available to work nights, and weekends as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

A polite and professional disposition

Possesses strong interpersonal communication abilities to establish a professional and personal rapport with patients, is a good listener.

Demonstrate concern for patient needs and display a positive attitude

Great time management and organizational skills, (e.g. on time pick up and drop off)

Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)

Familiarity with GPS devices. Use to determine and follow the best route

CPR / First Aid certification preferred. Will train in the use of Narcan

Communicates clearly verbally and in writing, submits accurate and punctual reports

High School diploma or GED equivalent

Clean driving record

Authorized to work in the US for any employer

Able to pass a CORI background check

Employee will be exposed to driving for extended periods of time, some in adverse weather or traffic conditions during daylight and night hours.
