Human Resources Business Partner, Learning & Development
IMCD US currently has an opening for a Human Resource Business Partner, Learning & Organizational Development (HRBP) to provide a combination of HR Generalist support with a parallel focus on learning and development for a growing organization. This role is based in our Corporate Headquarters, currently officed in Westlake, Ohio.
This role reports directly to the Vice President Human Resources for the IMCD US organization.
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
The HR Business Partner reports to the Vice President of Human Resources, and provides Generalist support, playing a lead role with employee relations matters, HR policies and procedures, learning and organizational development for the commercial organization. The role requires significant customer and business partner orientation, the ability to work independently and influence at a senior level to effectively support behavioral change. Additionally, and most importantly, the role will serve as a steward of the Company values and organizational behaviors which help to shape our culture.

Under minimal supervision, you will serve as primary regional HR Business Partner, and that means that you will:
Support our business leaders and teams which span across multiple business units
Acquire broad understanding of our people strategies, enabling talent development and improving retention at the local level
Manage issues that require a detailed knowledge of the fundamental and advanced concepts and practices in Human Resources
Work with HR colleagues and local business leaders to provide responsive approaches and drive adoption of HR initiatives locally
Skillfully convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience
Provide guidance and expertise to address complex issues, including all aspects of the employment process
Drive process utilization by training leaders on relevant systems and regular checking on adoption and understanding of tools
Work to identify turnover risk, proposing viable strategic interventions
Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations by evaluating current processes and making recommendations for updated policies and procedures
Provide HR coaching and guidance to business partners in areas including, but not limited to: employee relations, terminations, corrective action plans, performance plans, custom policy creation/implementation, etc.
Demonstrate deep subject matter expertise on complex human resources topics such as multi-state labor law compliance, wage and hour laws, and changing employment regulations
Establish a trusted advisor relationship to ensure client satisfaction and colleague support
Evaluates structure, job design and headcount forecasting, and other people data analysis
Perform analytical tasks in support of HR in relation to compensation, turnover and headcount
Facilitates compensation process and benefits administration; assists with the development and implementation of hourly workforce compensation recommendations
Coordinates various needs assessments and participates in special projects
Identify root causes and conduct relevant data analysis in order to propose both short-term and long-term interventions and solutions
Command a working knowledge of best HR practices & current Employment Law, including but not limited to I-9s, personnel files, Worker's Compensation, EEO, ADA, FMLA,
Develop communication materials (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint presentations, termination letters, and other correspondence with unions.)
Performs other duties as assigned
Required:
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or other relevant discipline
5-7 years of experience in HR required, including experience in the progression of general HR responsibilities and exposure to talent recruitment and acquisition practices
Experience with the design and development of organizational learning plans
Experience within an organization that has a distributed employee and field based population
Experience must include employee relations, performance management, succession planning, training and development, recruitment, benefits, compliance (federal,state,etc), and structural integration
Proficiency with HR systems (HRIS, ATS, LMS)
Knowledge and application of current HR trends, best practices and compliance issues.
Knowledge of complex HR topics such as leave of absence, wage and hour guidelines and employee relations
Knowledge of and ability to apply excellent service and consultative practices
Ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely, effective, and efficient delivery of service
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
2 years of deep generalist knowledge in an HR role
Full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Intermediate level Excel and PowerPoint skills (pivot tables, presentations with slides that "build")
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use and interpret data to both guide and validate decisions
Ability to quickly grasp the "big picture", using insights from business leaders, Global HRBP colleagues and COE partners to provide pragmatic counsel and guidance aligned to the strategic direction of the organization
Demonstrated effectiveness at both the strategic and tactical levels.
Desired:
Master's Degree in Human Resources, Organization Effectiveness, Industrial Labor Relations or other relevant degree
Bilingual Spanish a plus
SHRM-CP/SCP and/or PHR/SPHR Certification are a plus
Work Environment:
This job currently operates on a hybrid schedule rotating between in-office and remote work environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, and the hours of work and days are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise directed. Additional hours may be required as needed.

Travel:
Up to 25% travel is possible in this position.
