DC Department of Human Resources is Hiring a CLERICAL ASSISTANT Near Washington, DC

Job SummaryThis position is located within the Office of Campaign Finance (OCF). The mission of the Office of Campaign Finance (OCF) is to regulate and provide public disclosure of the financial operations of those candidates and committees in both the traditional private financing and the public financing programs, and the Constituent Service and Statehood Fund Programs to ensure public trust in the integrity of the election process and government service.
The incumbent in this role is responsible for serving as the Clerical Assistant to the Training Officer of the Office of Campaign Finance (OCF) in the Office of the Director, and to provide, as needed, general clerical support to the Director and the other divisions within the Office of Campaign Finance (OCF).
Duties And ResponsibilitiesReceives visitors and telephone calls, ascertains the nature of the call and the information desired, answers questions or directs callers and visitors to office personnel who can furnish the required information. Establishes, maintains, and arranges office files and files contents in appropriate order. Utilizes established system to research and compile information for various reports and correspondence and to provides background information. Records a variety of documents in draft or final form from written drafts or verbal instructions, including routine correspondence, status reports, notices of hearings and charts, and is in charge of ensuring final deliverables are properly assembled, arranged, spaced, grammatically formatted, and spelled correctly. Serves as the agency notary official responsible for the notarization of public documents filed with the Office of Campaign Finance.
Prepares the monthly report of OCF activity for the public meetings of the Board of Elections Assists with the procurement of office supplies and verifying the receipt of all supply orders and the accuracy of all supply invoices prior to their submission for approval. Assists the Training Officer with the OCF Educational Program, the onsite, and demonstrations in the Community to disseminate information about the Fair Elections and the Traditional Campaign Finance Programs. Maintains records of the community outreach events, including a roster of participants. Distributes and maintains the Certificate of Completion of Training to the Candidates and Treasurers who participate in the mandatory training conference. Assists in storing and gathering information needed for special and periodic reports, which require the selection, compilation, and arrangement of ongoing projects and community outreach events. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/EducationSpecialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position and has equipped the individual with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, the incumbent must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.
Working Conditions/EnvironmentWork is performed in a typical office environment.
