Assistant Controller

The Assistant Controller is expected to provide direction and leadership for the accounting division in the areas of general accounting, monthly closing process, and forecasting.

Main Responsibilities

• Assist in cash forecasting and reporting of net financial position
• Prepare, review and analyze financial information to ensure integrity is maintained
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Responsible for preparations of journal entries, reconciliations and consolidated financial reporting package 
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff
• Assist with annual budgeting and monthly forecasting
• Prepare tax worksheets and support schedules
• Participate in external and internal audits as required
• Work closely with operational personnel to achieve company objectives in accordance with GAAP, internal policies and other regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and develop internal control procedures
• Ad hoc projects and reporting as needed

Education

• A bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in accounting, finance or other applicable degree. At least 7 years of accounting work experience is acceptable for this position.
• Construction industry accounting experience preferred
