Description

We are seeking a skilled Catering Lead to oversee our catering operations, ensuring seamless execution of events and exceptional service to our clients. The Catering Lead will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of catering functions, from menu planning to setup and breakdown. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead a team to deliver outstanding experiences. 

Responsibilities:

  • Event Coordination: Manage all aspects of catering events, including scheduling, staffing, setup, and logistics. Ensure that all equipment and supplies are available and in good condition for each event.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for catering clients, providing prompt and courteous responses to inquiries and requests. Gather feedback after events to assess satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise catering staff, including servers, bartenders, and kitchen personnel. Delegate tasks and provide guidance to ensure smooth operation of events.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of presentation and service. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the development of catering budgets and pricing strategies. Monitor expenses and revenue to achieve financial targets while delivering value to clients.
  • Problem Solving: Handle any issues or concerns that arise during catering events, such as last-minute changes, equipment malfunctions, or guest complaints. Implement effective solutions to resolve problems and minimize disruptions.
  • Vendor Relationships: Cultivate positive relationships with suppliers, vendors, and venue partners.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences. Use insights to innovate and enhance the company's catering offerings. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in catering or event management, with a focus on high-volume operations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities, with keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, with certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer software for menu planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to accommodate catering schedules.
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, culinary arts, or a related field is beneficial.
