The Surgical First Assist is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for patients having a procedure performed in the Operating Room. The Surgical First Assist has advanced training in this area and provides care utilizing standard process, therapeutic environment, treatment and diagnostic processes, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities:A Surgery Physician Assistant (PA) is an allied health professional who will perform approved functions under the supervision of a physician who is a member of the Parkview Community Hospital Medical Center Medical Staff or who will practice pursuant to standardized procedures or approved protocols. All Surgical PAs will be responsible to the Parkview Community Hospital Medical Center Surgical Specialties Section Chief, Department of Surgery Chair, and the President of the Medical Staff
Qualifications:Successful completion of physician assistant program and licensure. Current BLS and ACLS required. PALS within 90 Days of hire. Minimum of 3 5 years of diversified experience in Operating Room.
