Job Title: Category Manager

Contract Type: 1-Year Contract (Opportunity to Extend or Convert to Full-Time Employment)

Location: Hybrid - Needs to sit in Allentown, PA; Providence, RI; or Louisville, KY

Pay Rate: $55-$60/hour (W2)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Category Manager to oversee the supply chain for our operations services, specifically focused on utility electric and gas operations. This role involves managing competitive bid events, negotiations, market analysis, financial analysis, and supplier relationships. You will be responsible for tracking and managing supplier performance, reporting cost savings, and driving continuous improvement and productivity.

This position requires an experienced professional capable of working independently with minimal supervision and providing guidance to other team members.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop negotiation strategies and company positions on complex, multi-million dollar contracts.
• Collaborate with the Office of General Counsel to incorporate appropriate commercial protections and conduct negotiations for optimal business outcomes.
• Perform market and financial analysis to assess business risks associated with suppliers or contracts.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with suppliers/partners in accordance with the highest ethical standards and company policies.
• Serve as the corporate expert for assigned operations services categories, understanding market drivers, supplier base, emerging technologies, and regulatory factors.
• Act as the primary liaison to suppliers within assigned categories.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience in operations services buying.
• Market knowledge of gas/electric utility products, equipment, and services.
• Basic knowledge of business law, commercial terms and conditions, and related legal issues.
