- **Process Improvement Analysis:** Continually communicate with employees and management to analyze and identify areas for process improvement in scrap preparation, billet handling, billet reheat, and finished product within the melt shop and rolling mills.
- **Systems Optimization:** Implement process improvements, equipment upgrades, and data monitoring systems to optimize processes and measure impacts effectively.
- **Technological Advancements:** Conduct studies to enhance technologies for the steel industry, with a focus on Continuous Steel Rolling Mill (CSRM) processes.
- **Collaboration and Training:** Collaborate with department staff, conduct training sessions, and network with industry professionals to share knowledge, skills, and best practices.
- **Work Activities:** Includes climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and performing repetitive motions.
- **Environmental Conditions:** Work takes place indoors, in both office and manufacturing environments. May involve pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds and lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in mill environments.
- **Position Reports to:** Rolling Mill Superintendent.
