Overview:

The Maintenance Technician, or church Sexton, performs on-site maintenance of church facilities and property under the direction of the Church Administrator and Minister as a part-time employee of the Church. The church is located at 2013 Elm Street, Manchester, New Hampshire. This position is one of trust and responsibility. A background check and references will be required.

Responsibilities:

· Performs maintenance and minor repairs to equipment, furniture, and buildings.

· Sets up and break down rooms or outdoor space for meetings and events.

· Seasonal installation of storm windows and A/C units.

· Performs grounds-keeping, pruning, and snow removal as necessary.

· Looks to the security of the grounds, buildings, and contents.

· Provides initial response to facility emergencies.

· Observes and reports problems and potential problems with equipment and facilities.

· Provides access to the facilities to authorized parties on assigned evenings, Saturdays, and /or Sundays. On these occasions the Sexton will be paid by outside groups. (this is in addition to normal work schedule)

· During a normal work shift, the Sexton uses email to communicate with the church staff and committees as necessary, and checks in with the Church Administrator.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Fifteen(15) hours per week; days and times to be determined. Lifting and moving heavy objects is required occasionally. Work is indoors and outdoors.
