Job Summary
We are seeking a Medical Administrative Assistant to join our team! We are an outpatient radiation oncology practice with two offices, one in Manchester and the other in Enfield. As a Medical Administrative Assistant, you will provide routine support alongside nurses and medical staff as well as providing administrative support. This role encompasses many aspects of patient care from medical history taking to obtaining vital signs and other tests, in support of the medical staff. It also includes many clerical duties such as obtaining outside records, scheduling appointments and answering and triaging office phones. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, an interest in learning more about a working medical environment, and has previous office experience. This position may include coverage at either the Manchester or Enfield location.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare for the patient visit, including pulling charts and notes, setting up exam room
  • Schedule appointments
  • Maintain patient medical record
  • Answer phones and field questions about medical issues, identifying visit needs
  • Assist nurses and doctors with basic medical care and procedures
  • Track lab results, call in prescriptions, and handle basic medical office duties
Qualification
  • Certified Medical Assistant desired
  • One year medical office experience or reception experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail
