Grade 6 (Salary). Position Description: The Environmental Health and Safety Training Specialist II serves as the Training and Communications Specialist and reports to the Environmental Health and Safety Training Specialist III ((Research laboratory Training Specialist) in the Department of Environmental Health & Safety. This position will be responsible for designing, developing, and conducting safety training communication programs for employees and students across various departments within the organization. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to effectively communicate safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and promote a culture of safety awareness. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design comprehensive safety training and communication materials, including presentations, handouts, visual aids for in-person or online delivery.
Design and maintain communication materials to raise safety awareness through multiple media outlets such as email newsletters, social media, etc.
Ensure training and communication materials adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and UofL policies.
Deliver engaging and informative safety training sessions to employees and students at all levels.
Utilize various training methods, such as lectures, workshops, and hands-on demonstrations, to effectively convey safety concepts.
Identify areas for improvement and implements necessary changes to enhance training outcomes.
Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and initiatives.
Assess the effectiveness of safety training and communications programs through evaluations, surveys, and feedback from participants.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Organizational Leadership & Learning Development or related.
Certification in public health training or related certifications.
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
