Job Summary

This person will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and supervision of the designated water treatment facility. State-issued certification is required to be considered for this role.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of sampling, monitoring and testing required to maintain compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process and management
• Operates sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment to control flow and processing of sewage
• Perform daily checks of the wastewater treatment process and periodic checks of pump stations
• Assist with the installation and inspection of new wastewater utilities
• Read and interpret meters and gauges that monitor the purification process and operation

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

• Prior or current water operator certification strongly preferred

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Records required

• Experience within a water treatment environment

• Ability to work independently

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Requires the ability to read, write, compile, and analyze data and reports daily

• Ability to monitor control panels, gauges, and meters to ensure proper plant operation

• Must be available to work weekends, overtime and ‘on-call’ as needed
