Coastline Family Medicine is Hiring a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist Near Jacksonville, NC

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team. The Medical Biller will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical claims, ensuring timely reimbursement, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines. Duties: - Review and analyze medical records to identify appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services rendered - Enter coded information into billing software or electronic health record systems - Submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail - Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resubmit as necessary - Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues or discrepancies - Process payments from insurance companies and patients - Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient billing records - Stay current with changes in medical billing codes and regulations - Assist with medical collections as needed Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Medical Billing or related field preferred - Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or related role - Proficiency in ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG coding systems, and medical terminology - Strong knowledge of medical billing processes, including claim submission, payment posting, and reimbursement procedures - Familiarity with electronic health record systems and medical office software - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing practices - Strong communication skills to effectively interact with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers We offer competitive pay rates and benefits packages.
