**Job Description:**
**Process Department Leader**
Design Group is looking for a motivated, high energy, well-organized, collaborative Process Department Manager who has the ability to understand and deliver process engineering design packages for clients within the Oil Refining, Natural Gas Processing, or Chemical Industry. This person will possess the skill to execute complex projects and a desire to deliver outstanding work product to clients. He/she will lead a team of engineers and designers in the development of process design documents and deliverables for all project phases (conceptual and detailed design and feasibility studies). The Process Engineering Manager may execute work on multiple projects simultaneously as directed by project leaders.
**Job Requirements:**
* Build and develop the team of process design engineers under your guidance and supervision. Coach team members and act as a mentor to less-experienced engineers.
* Interacts with clients in project meetings and site visits. Acts as a lead technical team member to convey experience and knowledge about what it takes to successfully implement a project.
* Directs process design activities (including process descriptions, process flow diagrams (PFDs), heat and material balance consults to the team on other integrated deliverables such as piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), plot plan and risk assessments)
* Leads a team of process engineers and designers to successfully execute projects that meet industry standards and requirements.
* Is the champion of the Quality Management System and ensures quality through the implementation of project quality reviews.
* Uses Subject Matter Expertise to provide value-based design options to support the clients business objectives.
* Client development activities include: presenting our firms process capabilities, proposing technical solutions to meet the clients needs and providing input to project scoping and proposal efforts to support the project management team.
* Builds relationships across our multi-office, firm wide team to create the positive one-firm culture across the group.
**Skills & Qualifications:**
* 15 years' of process design work experience in the Oil Refining, Natural Gas Processing, or Chemical Industry.
* Demonstrated strong expertise in developing and applying process/plant models with steady state models using Promax or Aspen Engineering Suite
* Experience in delivering feasibility and early front end loading work is highly preferred
* Demonstrated ability to present process designs to existing and new clients
* Demonstrated ability lead a process engineering design team
* Strong interpersonal leadership skills are critical due to the requirement for effective communication of complex issues across multiple offices and teams.
* Must currently hold or be willing and eligible to obtain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
* Willing and able to travel as necessary for project requirements to include but not be limited to: project installation and start-up activities, client meetings, company sponsored meetings, trainings, industry related seminars, forums, or conventions, etc.
**Education**
* Bachelors (B.S.) degree in Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited school
**Licensure**
* Professional Engineers License in the state of Texas, with ability to be licensed in additional states.
