- This position serves on a team of trainers that deliver training classes, workshops, and events to county election officials.
- Under limited supervision of the department’s training manager, the trainer assists assigned counties by providing ongoing training and support regarding election policies and procedures.
- Serve as a resource in ad hoc agency projects involving counties.
- Conducts training and certification classes for county board members and office directors.
- A bachelor’s degree and at least three years in education, training, or similar experience is required.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data, election laws, and election policies and procedures. Ability to conduct meetings and give presentations to small and large groups. Must have excellent public speaking and writing skills. Must have ability to train others while simultaneously completing projects, as assigned.
- Employee must be able to exercise sound judgment and discretion. Employee must also be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and the public.
- Certified trainer or licensed educator with at least three years of classroom-teaching experience (current licensure not required).
- Proven ability to deliver complex materials and processes in a simple, understandable way to an audience of varying abilities and competencies.
- Experience developing curriculum.
- Experience in facilitating professional/continuing education.
