Job Summary
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions seeks an Admissions Representative (Virginia) to manage an assigned geographic territory as part of the departments nationwide recruitment program.
The Admissions Representative must live in their assigned territory and is responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge and oversight of that territory in order to identify and recruit prospective students, feeder schools, and potential growth markets.
The Admissions Representative will utilize high-level customer service, relationship-building, presentation, technological, and data analysis skills in order to recruit prospective students, report on their territory, and provide recruitment data to management to determine market priorities.
The Admissions Representative will present students, parents, and high school counselors with up-to-date information about the University of South Carolina student experience and advise them on admissions policies and procedures.
This position requires extensive travel and seasonal overtime. The managed territory will be primarily Virginia. Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelors degree and no prior work experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and / or experience.
Must currently live in, or be willing to relocate to, assigned national territory / market outside the state of South Carolina.
Traveling alone within assigned geographic region and to South Carolina for student recruitment and professional development / training events is required.
Occasional night and weekend work required. Preferred Qualifications

Job Duties Job Duty Develop, plan, and implement admissions recruitment activities within assigned territory. This includes, but is not limited to, attendance at college fairs, high school visits, workshops, panels, and other recruitment events.
Enter all recruitment plans, student inquiries, and assessment into Slate by set deadlines. Complete all purchasing, travel, HR, and paperwork in compliance with University and office policy.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty Build relationships and personalize the admissions process for students, parents, and high school counselors within assigned territory by establishing a seasonal outreach plan.
This should include (but is not limited to) personalized communication and / or updates via note writing, email, text, and / or or phone calls;
outreach events via virtual platform; and in-person special events. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty Exhibit exemplary professionalism and provide excellent customer service as representative of the university.
Advise and counsel students and their families regarding admissions and other University policies and procedures. This will include significant communication with students and parents via phone and email.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty Complete general admissions duties including, but not limited to, application file review, attendance at special events, COW mail, and general office phone calls.
Use necessary technology in day-to-day activities to better perform regional duties and to stay connected with Columbia-based staff as well as other remote employees.
Attend staff meetings, trainings, workshops, department visits, and (when possible) professional conferences. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty Using demographic, historical and environmental data, effectively analyze and strategically manage assigned recruitment territory.
