The Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation, instruments, tooling, fixtures and building resources related to the development and manufacturing of products, consumables and associated functions. Candidate will develop and improve processes and documentation related to company operations and manufacturing in accordance with QMS guidelines and objectives. Candidate will develop and maintain relationships with external organizations related to outsourcing, contract manufacturing, and other company directed initiatives. Candidate will deploy, support and improve in-house manufacturing processes, equipment and methodologies.

Essential Functions

· Ability to work with engineering drawings

· Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and fluidic systems

· Familiarity with software structure and coding

· Understanding of metrology for quality analysis and quality management

· Understanding of ISO (9001, 13485), CE, and FDA regulatory systems

· Ability to work with tools and electromechanical assemblies

· Ability to prioritize and manage tasks and projects

· Ability to work independently with minimal oversight

· Ability to lift 20 lbs.

Work Environment

This position is based in Carlsbad, California

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position that requires schedule flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Travel

This position requires up to 15% travel.

Required Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering-related field (Mechanical, Electrical, System, Biomedical, etc.)

· 2 years of relevant industry experience
